Let’s face it – replacing our kitchen is expensive, not to mention disruptive! It’s easy to be seduced by a contemporary glossy showroom display but will it be possible or cost-effective to update the doors in the future when it looks dated or is damaged? If your budget allows, consider a mid-price+ version where the doors (if not the carcasses) are made from real wood so easy to repair and repaint when necessary. Look to make savings in other areas of your project instead. It’s likely to be more cost-effective in the long-run.

Although at the higher bespoke end, this 18-year-old Bryan Turner kitchen is still looking great – see main Home page image for it’s latest look. As it’s a classic design, it’s timeless. Just the cost of some paint, (and maybe new handles), your kitchen could have a totally different feel at a fraction of the cost of a new kitchen. Granite worktop from Premier Marble, (Norwich) is still in mint condition – it might have seen off the odd piece of crockery dropped on it though – it’s as tough as old boots! Well worth the investment all those years ago.
